Minecraft capes guide

A Minecraft cape is a cosmetic that shows on your character's back. Most capes were given out in short promotions as one-time codes, and each code adds the cape to the Microsoft account that redeems it. Here is where every cape we sell came from.

Crafter's Cape

Given out at TwitchCon Europe 2026 in Rotterdam on 30 and 31 May 2026. Visitors collected stickers around the venue and swapped them for a code at the Cape Trader booth. It was announced alongside the Builder Cape, and it is by far the harder of the two to get.

Can you still get it officially? No. The event is over and no new codes are being made.

Follower's Cape

Part of the 15 Days of Minecraft birthday celebration in 2024. Players earned it through a TikTok watch quest that ran from 18 May to 18 June 2024.

Can you still get it officially? No. New codes stopped on 18 June 2024.

Moonlight Trail Cape

For visitors who completed Minecraft Experience: Moonlight Trail, an after-dark walking event that opened in May 2026. The code arrives by email after the visit.

Can you still get it officially? Only by visiting the event while it runs.

Experience Cape

Given to visitors of Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue, Mojang's touring in-person event, from October 2024. The design is a villager face, half zombie villager and half villager.

Can you still get it officially? Only by visiting a Minecraft Experience event while it runs.

Corrupted Creeper Cape

A Minecraft Dungeons II cape, first handed out at gamescom 2026 and later through a Twitch and TikTok watch quest in September 2026. Its code is entered inside Minecraft Dungeons II and the cape is worn there.

Can you still get it officially? New codes are no longer being handed out.

How capes work

Capes are stored on your Microsoft account, like skins. Most work on both Java and Bedrock Edition, and you can own several, but only one shows at a time. Redeem a code at minecraft.net/redeem: our step by step guide shows how, and the capes page has every cape we have now.
