How to redeem a Minecraft cape code

You redeem a cape code on the Minecraft website with your Microsoft account, then choose the cape in the game. It takes about a minute.

Before you start

• Sign in with the Microsoft account you play Minecraft on. The cape is added to the account you redeem it on.
• Each code works once. Keep it private until you have used it.
• If you bought from Capely, your code was shown on screen the moment you paid, and a copy was emailed to you.

Redeem your code

1. Go to minecraft.net/redeem.
2. Sign in with your Microsoft account.
3. Type or paste the code exactly as it was given to you.
4. Confirm. You will see a message that the code was redeemed.

Equip your cape

Java Edition: open the Minecraft Launcher, go to the skins section and choose the cape for your profile. If it is not listed yet, close the launcher and open it again.

Bedrock Edition: open the Dressing Room, go to the Character Creator, then Capes, and select your cape.

Only one cape shows at a time. You can switch between the capes you own whenever you like.

Something went wrong?

It says the code was already redeemed. A code works once. Check you are signed in to the right Microsoft account, as it may already be on another one. If you bought it from us and it was never used, contact us.

It says the code is invalid. Check for typing mistakes, such as 0 and O. Copying and pasting the code avoids most of them.

The cape is not in my game. Make sure the game is signed in to the same Microsoft account you redeemed on, then choose the cape in the menus above. A cape is not always worn automatically. Restarting the game or launcher helps.

Minecraft Dungeons II capes

The Corrupted Creeper Cape is a Minecraft Dungeons II cape. Its code is entered inside Minecraft Dungeons II, through the game's code option in its settings, not at minecraft.net. It is worn in that game, not in Java or Bedrock Edition.
